William Stevens

Project coordinator, EUN

Graduated from EAP-European School of Management (Paris, Oxford, Berlin – Diplôme de Grande Ecole de Gestion – Diplom Kaufmann) in 1989 and previously from the Catholic University of Brussels in Economics.
Embarked on his professional career at the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA) where he was appointed Secretary General at the age of 25. Managing an annual budget of €2M, he launched several ambitious initiatives, one that led to the creation of EASDAQ (which became Nasdaq Europe) while significantly growing revenues, profits and membership. 
Founded Europe Unlimited in 1998 to be a much-needed European hub for fast-growing entrepreneurs raising their profile with venture capital investors. Today, Europe Unlimited has achieved that difficult mission and is a profitable company with revenues of €3M. Europe Unlimited organises 15 international venture and technology partnering forums with over 1,000 presenters every year attracting a huge network of venture capital investors, corporate partners, university tech transfer groups, innovation policy makers and deal makers.


Julia Prats

Professor of Entrepreneurship, Lead for IESE/Chair of HLAG.

Professor and head of department of Entrepreneurship, holder of the Bertrán Foundation Chair of Entrepreneurship at IESE. 
Primary area of interest is the entrepreneurial process, which includes the identification, evaluation and implementation of opportunities in any context. Central to this work is developing strategies and systems that help established firms achieve profitable growth. 
Second work stream focuses on understanding the key factors in building and managing professional service firms. Has had the opportunity to develop both areas of interest through teaching, research projects and consulting work. 
Nominated Kauffman Emerging Scholar for her dissertation work and has published in international journals and congress proceedings, both for practitioners as well as the academic community. Also authored teaching materials and contributions to several books on entrepreneurship and strategy related topics. 
Holds a DBA in business administration from Harvard University, an MBA from IESE Business School, and a degree in industrial engineering from the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya.


James Burnham

Project manager, EUN

Independent investor relations, communications, and public policy consultant. He served as the External Relations Director for Invest Europe – the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association – and was responsible for political advocacy campaigns, policy formation and association management from 2010 to 2014 . 
Prior to Invest Europe he was the Head of Marketing and Communications at Climate Change Capital and responsible for fund raising campaigns across a number of asset classes including venture capital, growth equity, carbon emissions, property and renewable energy infrastructure. 
He has held a number of positions in the commercial conference and research sector.


Jean Rognetta

President, PME Finance

A financial journalist with a strong technology background, with an experience in managing teams of journalists and launching innovative editorial projects. 
Founder and president of PMEfinance, an independent, non-profit think tank bringing together leading entrepreneurs, VCs and politicians in France. Writer of books and in-depth financial studies for my journalism employer, DI Group (Les Echos, Capital Finance, Eurostaf). An occasional blogger and a regular tweeter. 
Very active on the French VC/tech conference circuit, academic and professional. Specialties: Venture capital lato sensu, ranging from innovation finance to IPO via expansion capital. 
Innovation and technology with a non-exclusive Internet/IT/telecoms bias and a deep interest in biotech, nanotech, and just about anything new.


Vittoria emanuela bria

Project assistant, IESE

Research Assistant in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center at IESE Business School, conducting cutting-edge research on open innovation, corporate venturing and tech transfer. Prior to IESE, she was a research associate at GRITIM-Universitat Pompeu Fabra.  She holds a double degree in Immigration Studies from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain) and University of Liège (Belgium) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations and Human Rights from the University of Padova (Italy). Acquired in-depth knowledge of International Law, Migration Policies and Qualitative Research Methods.

Project manager at Tech Tour, working on Innovation and European Commission related projects. MSc degree in Business Intelligence and Process Management from the Berlin School of Economics and Law. 
Involved in working with the EU Commission, NGOs, start-ups and corporations, supporting projects for research, innovation and digitalization.


Ulrich Kruse

Investment manager, IESE FINAVES

Serves as a Venture Capital Analyst at Finaves S.C.R., S.A.. Previously an Analyst at SI Capital Private Equity SGEIC, joined SI Capital in 2014. Served as a Research assistant at IESE Business School. Depth specialization in the fields of Private Equity, stationary gas turbines and turbo fans. 
Studied Business Administration and Engineering at Technische Universität Darmstadt from 2007 to 2010 and earned a bachelor’s degree. Also holds an M.Sc in Business Administration and Engineering at TU Darmstadt from 2010 to 2015.
